ALTON WOOTEN, JR., who prefers to be called Dunnie, a nickname given to him by his mother, was born in Dallas,Texas on, April 29, 1953 to his parents, Alton and Myrtle Faye Wooten. Dunnie was raised in a God-fearing home. As he was growing up, to go to church was a part of his being.

Dunnie was well-loved by his family and friends. He had a unique personality. One might say, "TO KNOW HIM IS TO LOVE HIM." He was one of many comedians in the family. He could always make you laugh, and had the ability to entertain and amuse you for hours. There was a sweet aura about Dunnie, as he belonged to God.

Dunnie attended Holmes Avenue Elementary School in Los Angeles, Perry Junior High School in Gardena, Gardena High School in Gardena, and Banning High School in Wilmington, where he graduated. He also attended Los Angeles Trade Tech College. At the time of his death, Dunnie was attending night school to further his education.

Dunnie did voluntary work for Justiceville, home for the homeless. He was involved with helping the homeless. He will be remembered by his co-workers for his outstanding contribution.

We love you Dunnie, but God loved you best.

Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

He leaves to mourn his passing: one daughter, Warnisha Wooten; a loving mother and step-father, Harris and Faye Rumph; a loving father and step-mother, Mr. & Mrs. Alton Wooten, Sr.; one sister and brother-in-law, Michael and Barbara Clark; one brother and sister-in-law, Arthur and Jacqueline Wooten; six nieces, Ineta Wooten, Antoinette Wooten, Angela Clark, Michera Clark, Amber Clark, and Jamia Wooten; one half-brother, Marcus Wooten; one step-brother, John Brown; two step-sisters, Carolyn Porter, Cathy Porter; and a host of relatives and friends.
