Annette Dorothea Ford
Annette Dorothea Ford - June 16,1950 - August 11, 1996

Annette was born in New York City. Her parents were Carlene and Willoughby Folks. She was Educated in the public Elementary Schools and fashion Industry High School.

She started her family at an early age, and solicited the help of her mother and siblings to help raise her children. Annette held many different jobs in her life, but basically danced to her own drumbeat and didn't skip a beat. She was not afraid to take chances. She lived life to the fullest . Although she was always on the move she was a very sensitive person. She always wrote letters or sent cards to stay in touch. She was funny, joked a lot, loved to laugh and to make other people laugh.

As a child she attended St. George's Episcopal Church in Astoria New York. In later years she converted to the Muslim Faith and was an active participant until her health would not allow her to regularly attend services. Annette also became very active in fighting for the rights of people with the HIV- virus and full blown Aids. She participated in marches and rallies and the restoration of funds for much needed services for HIV clients.

Annette passed away on August 11, 1996 following multiple medical problems. She leaves three children, Thomas, Shamaine and Janaya and two granddaughters, Jaquilla and Jaree, also four brothers: Eric, Willoubhy, Steven, Darren and a sister Tanya. Two aunts, several nieces, nephews, cousins and many other relatives and friends will keep her alive in the memories of their hearts.
